Comperio Research conducted feasibility studies for six of the key stadia for FIFA World Cup™ including the Maracanã.

In preparation for the World Cup 2014, a host of bidding stadia required redevelopment according to FIFA regulations as well as raise the overall facilities to international level, the most prominent of these stadia was Maracanã, on which ISG continue to advise IMX on their long-term concession to commercialise the stadium.

Maracanã 

The Comperio Research output was one of the most comprehensive stadium feasibility studies ever undertaken and was a key element in helping IMX to understand the potential of the stadium. The research formed the core of the business plan in response to an RFP to operate the stadium.

Comperio Research conducted a thorough and extensive 3 phased feasibility study for the redevelopment of the Maracanã. An initial qualitative phase with high net worth and general admission consumer and corporate representatives was followed by a quantitative survey with more than 400 participants across the target markets. During the process, Comperio also develop an analysis techniques (for the third and last phase) to ensure the affordability and feasibility of the new projects and facilities within the proposed new stadium configuration

Comperio Research evaluated the demand for premium products (corporate boxes, loge boxes and premium seats) as well as season tickets in the Rio de Janeiro market, and estimated the relative demand derived from the two tenant clubs playing at Maracanã, Flamengo and Fluminense. In addition, through the result of the study, analysis and estimation of other aspects such as parking requirements, pricing segmentation within each stadium sector (by row) was also conducted in preparation for the final bid.

Brasilia

Comperio Research was contracted by the Government of Distrito Federal to undertake a feasibility study to estimate the demand for Corporate Boxes, Loge Boxes, VIP Seats and Club Seats for the New Stadium for Brasilia. The objective was to gauge the demand, in terms of quantity and revenue, for a new stadium with modern hospitality and premium service.

Belo Horizonte

Comperio Research was commissioned to collate available secondary data including demographic, market and stadium benchmarks and demand data in order to produce bespoke demand and revenues for the Mineirao Stadium in Belo Horizonte.

Corinthians

Comperio Research was commissioned to explore the revenue opportunities at the stadium planned to be constructed in Itaquera as well as the stadium SCCP currently plays most of its games, Pacaembu Stadium (Estádio Municipal Paulo Machado de Carvalho) or an alternative stadium located in Central Sao Paulo) on a comparison basis.

Porto Alegre 

SPE Holding Beira-Rio (BRIO) in partnership with IMX, a joint-venture between International Management Group (IMG) and EBX, appointed Comperio Research to conduct a thorough market research for the new Beira-Rio’s hospitality programme, in Porto Alegre.

Recife

Comperio Research undertook a comprehensive research study into the Arena Pernambuco in Recife on behalf of the local government.
